Pop Chips
Have you tried Pop Chips? If not, you MUST try these awesome potato chips! They are not just chips – they are all natural, without preservatives, artificial flavors or colors, no cholesterol, have 0 grams of saturated fat or trans fat and no gluten ingredients! We know how low-fat health talk can take the fun out of snacking, not to mention the flavor. But these chips are FULL of flavor! We discovered them from celebrity trainer Jillian Michaels who raves about them! We were a little skeptical but after the first bite we agree they are fantastic! The next time you want to reach for something crunchy and salty, grab these! You will be happy you did and so will your diet journal!
As most of you know, we are the kind of girls who like to stay on the upside of all the latest technology and through conversation with one of our members we discovered something new we HAD to try! Have you heard of a Fitbit? The Fitbit is a wireless personal trainer! It accurately tracks your calories burned, steps taken, distance traveled and sleep quality. The Fitbit contains a 3D motion sensor like the one found in the Nintendo Wii, converting useful information about your daily activities.
You can wear the Fitbit on your waist, in your pocket or on undergarments. At night, you can wear the Fitbit clipped to the included wristband in order to track your sleep. Anytime you walk by the included wireless base station, data from your Fitbit is silently uploaded to Fitbit.com. We will keep you posted to let you know what our final thoughts on the Fitbit are.
PB2
Have you ever heard of powdered peanut butter? If so, did you think it would be good? For PB2, superior quality peanuts are first slow roasted then pressed to remove the fat and oil. The result is an exquisitely natural roasted peanut butter flavor that’s deliciously rich in taste, easy to enjoy and healthy.
We hadn’t heard of it until a couple of weeks ago through one of our fans on Facebook. She even said that it was BETTER than our favorite “Better’n Peanut Butter.” We were determined to try this stuff out! We got on the website and found out it was on back order. We were bummed BUT you know us— we kept looking and found it on another website and Jungle Jims- they have everything! PB2 comes in regular peanut butter and chocolate peanut butter. They are both VERY good. If you find that the Better’n Peanut Butter is too sweet, the PB2 is going to be perfect for you. We really love both!
Just add 2 T. of PB2 and 1 T. water (we prefer a little more water than the directions suggest) then stir until smooth! For 2 tbsp. of PB2 there are only 45 calories and 1.5 grams of fat! Enjoy!
Power Balance Band
Performance Technology is a mylar hologram that is embedded with a range of frequencies found in nature that react positively with your body’s energy field. It has been shown to improve balance, flexibility and strength as well as contributing to an overall sense of well being among its users. These are pretty amazing! While traveling to California last month we discovered these bracelets/ bands and were blown away after we took the “test.” You almost think it is impossible that it could work, but it does!
We are now carrying these bands in a variety of sizes (S-XL) and colors at KIT! Next time you are in the gym check them out; they make great gifts.
Polar F7 Heart Rate Monitor
Sure, you can figure out your heart rate by counting your pulse for 15 seconds & multiplying by four. But heart rate monitors make it much easier! They track your heart rate, time and calories burned. Remember last month’s fitness and food journals? In order to properly monitor your food intake and exercise, you need to know what you are burning with each workout! To see results on the scale and in that bikini, you really need to be as accurate as possible. Not only will this help you see results, it will also take your workouts to new levels.
For almost two decades, we’ve been hearing the seductive call of the “fat-burning zone,” in which you burn a greater percentage of fat calories. And we’ve been told you get there by doing moderate – not hard – exercise. Turns out it is not that simple. The catch? When you exercise at 60 to 70 percent of your maximum heart rate, in that so-called “zone,” you burn fewer calories per minute, during and after your workout. To crank your metabolism, you need to push your body harder – a lot harder. The heart rate monitor will let you know if you are getting there. We never workout without them strapped on!
Purchase them at KIT for $120 and we will help you set the watch with your specific weight, age, sex, etc. If you purchase a heart rate monitor somewhere else, please make sure that it will allow you to enter your specific information. This is key to getting an accurate reading on what you are burning.
KITF Food Journals
Our own customized Keep It Tight Fitness Food Journals! They are awesome! As you know, we truly believe in keeping a daily log of your food intake and exercise. It is a great way to track your progress each day. Every day is different and with hectic schedules, this journal will help you monitor your daily calorie intake.
Not only will you be able to record you calories, there is a place to log how you feel, how your mood is, current weight statistics, etc. Using this tool will help you to see what is working and what isn’t. Holding ourselves accountable for our exercise is sometimes tough enough. Holding ourselves accountable for our diet is a whole other battle.
Nutrition is a HUGE part of meeting your fitness goals. By using this you will become educated about the calorie content in the food you are eating and what you are using to fuel your body. You will be surprised (and not in a good way) by how many calories are in what we eat! We are sure you will think twice about what you are putting in your mouth if you have to write it down! Trust us on this one…we’re doing it too!

Starbucks Double-Wall Insulated Cup
Keep It Tight has found a favorite “water bottle.” While stopping in at Starbucks to get a little “extra kick” after our morning workout, we came across the Starbucks Double-Wall Insulated Cup. Made to look like their usual Starbucks to-go cups, the double wall insulation is able to keep your drink cold, and your hand dry. It even has a straw that is made for the cup that doesn’t fall out! We know all of our Keep It Tight ladies will enjoy these cups just as much as we do! They are big, functional & CUTE!
