Melissa Matson
Owner/Fitness Coach

My name is Melissa Matson and I am the owner of Keep It Tight Fitness. My goal is to help you achieve your goals and for you to feel more confident, energized, and excited about your fitness journey. I feel so blessed to have the opportunity to share my passion for fitness and nutrition with you.

I am a full time Fitness Coach & Specialist in Fitness Nutrition at KITF. After earning a degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Cincinnati and working in the field for 16 years, I opened Keep It Tight Fitness in February of 2009. My vision for our all-women’s fitness boutique is to create a place where women can go that is unintimidating and comfortable. My journey began when I was only 16 years old and I taught my first fitness class at the age of 18.  As a certified Personal Trainer, Group Fitness Coach and Specialist in Fitness Nutrition, I have an extensive background in physical fitness and nutrition that allows me to guide you to be the best woman you can be, physically, healthfully and mentally.

I am married to an absolutely amazing man and have 6 wonderful children whom I love spending time with and educating on the importance of physical health and well-being. I enjoy traveling and cycling and I am a self-confessed fitness & fashion addict!

You are a priority!

Johnnie Douglas
Fitness Coach

Hi! I’m Johnnie Douglas and I am a woman with passion for fitness! I have a wonderful family and fiancé who I enjoy spending my extra time with.

Exercise and healthy eating have always been a priority to me. In the past 2 years I have had the opportunity to train and compete in two Ohio NPC Competitions in Figure and Bikini. At the beginning of my journey I realized that it was something that would change my life forever. After dieting and training for the shows, I realized what my body was truly capable of. It was amazing to watch the transformation as I began at 38% body fat, down to 10% when I competed. I learned that you are able to achieve any goal you have as long as you believe in yourself. Those I surround myself with daily at Keep It Tight Fitness remind me of that. Your mind will always quit before your body will!

Now, I am blessed everyday to help women believe in themselves and meet their fitness goals. Not only is exercising such an important part of living a healthy lifestyle but nutrition is the piece of the puzzle we easily miss sometimes. I am thrilled to help coach you in both aspects.
When you visit Keep It Tight Fitness it will truly be a life-changing experience; no matter what you take from it, I guarantee you will feel it the next day.

P.S. Remember, you are worth it!

Kerri Galvin
Fitness Coach

There are no excuses for not getting to the gym- I’m a wife and mother of 3 teenagers, one girl & two twin boys. And I always find the time to fit fitness into my day! I was a competitive gymnast and cheerleader from the age of 7, sparking my fitness regimen at an early age. I was a hurdler on my high school track team and cheered at the University of South Carolina where our squad placed 3rd in the national competition.

I became interested in teaching group exercise classes when I started taking pilates 5 years ago and have received certification through Balanced Body University; I have been teaching group exercise classes for 3 years.

I joined as a member at Keep It Tight Fitness in 2009 and now instruct Bikini Bootcamp and Mat Pilates classes and have earned the title “The Pulse Queen.” I look forward to meeting you & training you at a fun & intense level!

Grace Gravelle
Yoga Instructor

My snowy New England childhood fostered my healthy lifestyle, but despite my active youth, I suffered from frequent back pain and was eventually diagnosed with scoliosis (sideways curvature of the spine).

My cousin invited me to a yoga class in 2004, and despite my initial resistance, I fell in love with those sacred 60 minutes of worry-free bliss, followed by uplifting lightness, abundant energy, and even weight loss. I began practicing regularly, and I was thrilled to find relief from my back pain as the muscles supporting my spine gained strength and flexibility.

I often wish I’d known about yoga’s calming and balancing benefits during my overflowing, hectic college experience. My BA in Communication from Colby-Sawyer College has aided my work in the hospitality and customer service industries. Staffmark strongly values my current work as Project Coordinator for their Risk Management Department (my “day job”).

I continue to deepen my healing knowledge at The Omega Institute, a holistic educational retreat center in New York, by studying with established yoga teachers Baron Baptiste, Seane Corn, and Jimmy Barkan. I received my 200 hour Ashtanga yoga certification in 2009 from Yoga Ah Studio in Cincinnati, Ohio.

I maintain a simple, abundant lifestyle by nurturing my body with healthy food, caring for the environment, keeping a daily gratitude journal, creating discovery collages, supporting local businesses and spending lots of time upside down, fostering a creative outlook. I remain young at heart, dreaming up a joyful community where adults are encouraged to play on their mats with awareness and self love!

Julie Laux
Certified Zumba Instructor

Zumba is designed for everyone, every shape and age.  My philosophy is that anyone can take a Zumba class and have fun. This program is not limited to dancers or fitness fanatics – it‘s for everyone. There is no “wrong” way to take a Zumba class.

I began taking Zumba in 2005 after my second daughter was born. Zumba not only helped me burn that baby weight, but it also gave me a fun and motivating way to exercise.  Gaining confidence in dance, I became a Zumba instructor in 2008 to share the experience.  I am also certified in Zumba Toning and Zumbatomic (kids classes).  The styles of dance that I am certified to teach through Zumba are salsa, merengue, reggaeton, cumbia, tango, flamenco, samba, and belly dance.  I am a member of the Zumba Instructor Network (ZIN) and I currently teach 6 classes per week.

Having two kids, fitting in fitness is one of the toughest things to do.  Zumba is a way to dance the stress away and re-energize yourself.  Not only has Zumba given me a boost in energy, it has also lowered my blood pressure and trimed my waistline!  My goal is to reach out to others so they can experience these benefits of Zumba Fitness!

All exercisers from beginner to advanced will enjoy the benefits of a Zumba class.  I gear my classes to allow everyone to enjoy the workout – from those who want a killer workout to those just getting their legs up under them.

Natalia Buschur
Certified Zumba Instructor

My name is Natalia; I’m from Mexico, a wife and proud mom of two beautiful children. Cardio workouts were always boring for me until I found Zumba. The first time I took a Zumba class I was amazed on how similar the music was to the “workout” playlist in my IPod and right then I knew I was hooked.

I absolutely love teaching Zumba classes. The reason is simple: Every class feels like a party!
